Suspended (Swiss Alps - Part 9)

Day 10: Gruben to EuropaHut (Map)

Nothing lasts forever. Especially sunshine in a very green place. So I wasn’t terribly surprised when I woke up and heard the drumming of the rain outside. Still scarred by my last inadvertent wetsuit experience, no heroism was going to happen today. I pull out my little device that contains all of humankind's knowledge.

Just two hours later, using a bus, a gondola, and two trains, I was on the other side of the mountain pass. I shudder to think how people traveled without cellphones. Google Maps did all the work for me, down to telling me exactly when to head out the door in order to make it on time. No wonder our brains are turning into mush.

Randa looked as if it never rained at all.

From here it was a 2 hour hike to the coolest bridge in the world. A quarter mile of suspension heaven above a rocky abyss. I’d been looking forward to this bridge for days.

And of course, some more glacier views.
