The Little Glacier That Could (Argentina - Part 4)

Maybe it’s slightly offensive to call one of the largest glaciers in the world little, but when you’re coming back from Antarctica your sense of size is adjusted. Permanently.

Some shots of the Perito Moreno Glacier. The ice is constantly moving, crunching, and breaking off. Every so often a giant piece broke off, sending a gunshot through the air and making a giant splash.

A few other shots of Patagonia, particularly around the city of El Calafate.

As a city, though most of El Calafate is centered on Patagonia tourism, getting away from the Main Street presented a different vibe. Cute ranch houses, with a chicken coup and horse out back, jealousy-inducing landscaping, and dope playgrounds.

Either the strays in town are uncannily good at identifying weakness, or I'm unknowingly giving off a sucker vibe to every four-legged furry. I was having dinner alone when this pup was passing by. We made momentary eye contact. He took that as an invitation to join me for dinner (they really do jump at the smallest sign of interest don’t they?). Laid down, situated himself, settled in for the evening. Didn't beg, didn't whine, or even make those sad puppy eyes. As cool as a cucumber. Ended up with half of my chicken and stayed all the way through dessert. No regrets.
